Our Mission

The Yen-Li Chen Ballet School is committed to providing the highest level of Ballet training in a comfortable and nurturing setting. The School provides children with the opportunity to pursue their love of dance and training towards a professional career or simply enjoy the physical and emotional benefits of excellent dance. Ms. Chen believes that the benefits of professional ballet training extend far beyond the dance studio and provides children with self-discipline, self-confidence, a sense of teamwork and physical well being.

Classical Ballet

Curriculum

Primary
An introduction to dance for children 4-7 years of age.
Students learn coordination, ballet terminology, pantomime and rhythm exercises.

Beginning
Students learn basic ballet technique, correct posture, improvisation and musicality.

Intermediate
Students continue their training with more advanced steps, adding adagio,
pirouetts and allergro as well as an introduction to pointe work.

Advanced
Students refine their technique and develop performing skills. Other styles of training are included.  More advanced pointe work and additional repertoire are introduced.

Flamenco

Students in Levels 2B through Level 4 participate in weekly Flamenco classes led by professional Flamenco dancer Yumi La Rosa. The culmination of their year-long efforts is showcased on stage at the annual Spring performance.

Ballet Technique

The Yen-Li Chen Ballet School serves aspiring dancers ages 4 and up, beginning with foundational classes specifically designed for young children. As students’ skills mature, they gradually advance through intermediate and advanced programs, with clear progression marking each stage of their development. In addition to ballet technique and pointe work, dancers receive instruction in contemporary, jazz, flamenco, conditioning, and Pilates, creating a well-rounded training experience. This comprehensive curriculum ensures that dancers develop versatility, strength, and artistry, preparing them for a variety of performance opportunities and setting the school apart as a nurturing environment for emerging talent.
